Split-mount device for encoding and transmission of audio signal. Split-mount configuration allows great flexibility in terms of frequency range, IDU unit is standard and can be used with any type of Farcom ODU unit - up and down converter. System consists of two IDU and two ODU units. A/D conversion is done in transmissing, D/A conversion in receiving unit. Transmissiong antennas are parabolic with radome, cassegrain type, 0.6 or 0.9m in diameter. Connection between IDU and ODU units is made by coaxial cable, typically RG213, with its characteristic impedanse of 50Ω.
