Behringer DCX2496 je neverovatan alat za izvlačenje maksimuma iz većine ozbiljnih dvosistemskih ili trosistemskih aktivnih sistema, "bi" ili "tri-amped" - kombinacijom mogućnosti strmih kriva skretnice (i 48dB) i equalizer -a ovaj uređaj može omogućiti transparentnost audio sistemu bez ograničenja pasivnih skretnica i prostorije za slušanje.

Međutim, iako fabrički Behringer ima veliku funkcionalnost kao sound processor, takođe ima veliki potencijal poboljšanja - usled tako niske cene fabričkog uređaja (koji već ima odličan odnos kvalitet/cena) proizvođač je morao koristiti i jeftinija konstruktivna rešenja, te se širom sveta rade popularne modifikacije Behringer-a DCX2496 koje čine ovaj uređaj ozbiljnim igračem u svetu High-End audio sistema. Važno je napomenuti i da su komponente ugrađene u Behringer DCX2496 već preko 10 godina stare (ovo se posebno odnosi na DAC čipove) danas postoje njihove poboljšane verzije, druga ili treća generacija poboljšanih čipova...
